About the Farm
We are lucky to have the use of an amazing building owned by our friends who are now using their home as an art and recording space. We’ve made a few records there now and we love the relaxed atmosphere that working in an out-of-the-way countryside location offers. The location may feel remote, but the house is just a 30-minute drive from Leeds.
This beautiful 1960s-built house is the perfect place to get away and make great records, with 6 bedrooms, a large kitchen area and living space, and a log burner in the large garden area. This place has the worst mobile phone reception you’ve ever seen and is next to useless wi-fi (which is a good thing). It’s an ideal remote setting to come to get away from everything.
The ROOMS
We’ve set the rooms up so you can use the space as you choose. However, we are currently using one of the living rooms as a control room, allowing a medium-sized drum room and a smaller dry room for tracking, not to mention the large corridors and outside spaces. We have a limited stock of equipment already at the house but this can be supplemented with additional gear brought from The Nave. The focus of recording here is the vibe and atmosphere this place can bring rather than the need for elaborate recording setups. This may not be the ideal scenario for recording some projects, but for others, this will be a unique and exciting place to make music.
