Originally designed as a place for our synths to be permanently set up, Studio 3 has now become a great mix and overdub room as well as being an ideal space for writing and electronic music production.

In Detail

The Control Room

This room has a 66-slot 5 Modular synth and a few select Eurorack modules, as well as classic synthesizers and drum machines such as the Juno 60, ARP Odyssey mk1, MS20 and 808. Although these synths usually live in Studio 3, they can move to the other studios if required. However, artists often prefer to just program synths in this room.

Over the years we have amassed a wide collection of vintage synths and drum machines to which we are continually adding. We’re really into vintage sounds and the feel of physically tweaking and playing with real synthesizers, whilst also enjoying the benefits and convenience of MIDI control. This is why we have taken the time and effort to make sure each synth and drum machine is permanently set up and linked via MIDI, DCB and/or CV wherever possible.

Versatile & Interesting Set-ups

We have our EDP WASP Midi’d up which is quite a rare mod, and hasn’t been used that way on many records. Additionally, we have a permanently set up table area for effects pedals and tape echoes for more processing of sounds and textures.

We’re also interested in working with more modern set-ups, like using the Arturia Beatstep Pro or Ableton Push alongside Ableton Live. We’re not snobbish about how people work. If it sounds good, it sounds good. The room is fully equipped with Garageband, Logic, Pro Tools and Ableton, making your workflow as familiar and productive as it can be. We also have many software synthesizer plug-ins and sample packs available for use.
